Perth WA Public Holidays 2027

A few notes on the fine print: WA adds a substitute public holiday when Anzac Day, New Year’s Day, Christmas Day or Boxing Day falls on a weekend, so 2027’s Sunday Anzac Day gets a following Monday holiday on 26 April, and both Christmas Day and Boxing Day pick up extra Monday/Tuesday holidays at the end of the year. Labour Day in WA falls on the first Monday in March, and King’s Birthday is celebrate on the last Monday in September, both different from the dates used in most other states. Western Australia Day (formerly Foundation Day) is unique to WA and falls on the first Monday in June.

Note that Term 2 starts on Monday 26 April 2027, which is also expected to be the substitute public holiday for Anzac Day, so it’s likely a pupil-free day for students returning that week, worth double-checking with your school.
